YOU, WHO SEES ME AND THOSE FEELINGS INSIDE

This piece was a reminder of a specific moment in time... I was sitting in my living-room and had my phone up to my face and I remember at the time my ex saying how cool does that look, as a picture was taken. I saw it afterwards. I realised, wow he thought "this" was an amazing perspective? The picture was of someone who was very sad, hurting, and unhappy. My younger self and all the hurt she has endured to that point, that is what I saw.

It's funny you know, what someone may think from their perspective how cool or how beautiful something may seem to be, when in fact the other person involved in the experience had a completely opposite response. After feeling and seeing the same picture, it was the understanding that grew from that experience, that not everyone sees and experiences the same things the same way. There are always at least two sides to every story, and interestingly, neither are completely wrong, just different.
