This is my story regarding the original Breaking Free paining, where you will find the significance of having a cyborg print of this particular painting....

I was still suffering with tremendous physical pain, as if my body was collapsing and breaking from within, I had then completed the stage 2 surgery and had a sacral neuromodulation device implanted.

There was a lot for me to figure out, about who I was becoming. My emotional distress, both from my internal processing and my external environment, was impacting my physical wellbeing. I felt trapped. I was trying to break free from what was my new reality and what my inner-self was feeling. I felt rejected from society. When I looked in the mirror, all I saw reflecting back at me, was damage and pain. I knew I had to dig deep, that this was the new me, and what did that truly mean to me and me alone.... I moved differently. I appeared differently. And was in deep contemplation of questioning, would I always feel rejected or was I able to break free, like an emerging butterfly, and find my true self.

Yes, I was a cyborg, as some may say, but upon reflection, my Breaking Free was part of my own evolution, which needed a safe place for me to process and reflect, so that I could grow into the woman I am today….. Find your light and break free from whatever circumstance you currently feel trapped in.
